Summary: Baby seems to like it…
Rating: 5

My four month old baby seems to enjoy this book when I read it to him.

Summary: A wonderful book!
Rating: 5

This was one of my son’s favorite books from the time he was very little. The pictures of animals are large, and the babies love to look at them. I think it shows six different animals. The name of the animal is written in bold letters, and the phrases describing the animals are simple and not overwhelming to little ones. I’d recommend this book to any parent wanting to introduce their child to the world of animals. I’m buying this book as part of a birthday gift for a 1 yo. I think all the BE books are great! My 5 yo still enjoys reading some of them (especially the Violet series).

Summary: Great addition to our collection
Rating: 5

Its very refreshing to see photos of animals. To us it has been a grow with me book. My Son used to just look at the pics when he was 7-8 months, then started asking for names and now wants me to read about the animals!

Summary: Great book
Rating: 5

This is a great book for babies and toddlers. My fifteen month old daughter has loved it since she was six months old and it is still her favorite. It really holds her attention and she loves it when I tell her the name of the animal and then she gets all excited and tries to say the words, she can now say dog and cat. She has me read it a hundred times in a row, it really includes great bright and clear pictures of animals in the real world.

Summary: Library Pick
Rating: 5

I took my 10 month old daughter to the library for the first time. She rummaged through the board books and looked over several. I attempted to read many of them, but there were only 2 that held her interest. Neighborhood Animals was one of them. She wanted me to read it over and over again. There are photo illustrations of real animals that she absolutely loved. On the opposite page is text which was a bit much for her age, but I only read one sentence per page and she was happy with that. The next I read it I’d choose a different sentence. Along with the text is a drawn illustration of the animal at the bottom of the page. She seemed very interested in it also. Great for any baby or toddler who loves animals!

By the way, for those interested…the other book was Black and White by Parr.
